Pousada Vila Real de Santo Antonio

The beautiful Pousada of Santo Antonio, is housed in two buildings, the Customs house and Church, both situated on the town’s main square, Praca Marques de Pombal, in the centre of Vila Real.  The Marina and the River Guadiana, on the border with Spain, are within a few minutes walk.  This region is rich in cultural heritage and the natural beauty of the landscape combine to make this a great destination. The stunning sandy beaches, superb golf courses and the Castro Marim Marshland Nature Reserve all combine to offer a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

For the more energetic you make care to visit the Algarve mountains or, cross the border into Spain and take a trip to Ayamonte enroute to the magnificent Spanish city of Seville.

The Customs building, where the reception is located, has 40 bedrooms. The Church building, located on the opposite side of the square, has 17 bedrooms. In total the Pousada has 57 comfortable bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and terrace. There are 3 swimming pools, one on the rooftop with poolside bar and another located in the Pousada’s interior courtyard.

The restaurant serves an a la carte menu prepared in the open kitchen with a wood-fired oven and uses locally sourced produce.

The 57 twin / double bedrooms are all ensuite and some offer views of the Praca Marques de Pombal.  They comprise Classic rooms, Superior and Superior Family rooms, some with terrace, Junior Suite and Suite with twin beds. The accommodation is spacious and modern in style and features LCD TV, telephone, air conditioning, central heating, free Wi-Fi, safe, mini bar, and hair dryer.
