Description
The Noble House has its origins in the 15th century and is a typical example of an Alentejo Manor House. Its foundations are part of the original wall of Evora, known as ‘Cerca Velha’. The building was once the residence of the Counts of Lousa and was later used as a school. In 1920 it was converted into a hotel, one of the oldest in Evora.
The Noble House is located in the historic centre of Evora and is a short walk from the city’s Cathedral and the Roman temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This boutique hotel is a wonderful base from which to explore Evora and discover the culture and history of The Alentejo region.
The hotel has 31 well-equipped bedrooms, including 8 suites. The rooms are air conditioned and have TV, telephone, minibar, safety deposit box and wi-fi. There are also non-smoking rooms and the hotel provides a wake-up service.
The rooms have been furnished with comfort in mind and are full of history. Architectural details include the Roman wall, vaulted ceilings and 17th century glazed tiles making each room unique.
The decor is inspired by Alentejo traditions, creating a calm and peaceful environment all contributing to a relaxing experience.
The ‘Noble House Bistro’ is situated in the original 17th Century kitchen, where the original sinks and chimney have been retained. It’s historic yet relaxed environment creates the perfect place to enjoy the local wine and a menu which is based only on the best local ingredients and seasonal products,
