Description
Welcome to our Charming Hotel in Braganca
Set in some of the most rugged and spectacular rural landscapes in Portugal, the modern and vibrant Pousada of Braganca offers excellent facilities, wonderful views, delicious food and a warm welcome.
Enjoy Magnificent Views from the Hotel Sao Bartolomeu
From its hilltop position, this stunning hotel in Braganca provides magnificent views over the city’s medieval castle. Every room has a private balcony which overlooks the castle, the medieval town or the beautiful rural setting, and the hotel’s terrace is a perfect place to enjoy the stunning vista.
A short walk from the hotel you will find a town centre which is steeped in history. The medieval walled town surrounds a 12th century keep and a 13th century council chamber, and it has remained virtually untouched for many centuries. This was the seat of the Royal House of Braganca, rulers of Portugal between 1640 and 1910. During the Spanish Inquisition, Braganca became a sanctuary for Jews fleeing Spain, and so the Jewish culture has also had a significant influence on modern day Braganca.
The Hotel Sao Bartolomeu has 28 rooms, including 15 superior rooms and one suite, all with en-suite bathroom, heating/air conditioning, minibar, bathrobes, hairdryer, telephone, LCD TV and internet access. On-site facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a large terrace and a restaurant and bar.
