Description
Built in the mid 19th century, the Pestana Palacio do Freixo is one of the most remarkable examples of Portuguese Baroque architecture. The facade of this Pestana Palacio do Freixo was declared a National Monument in 1910. Its interior has been beautifully restored, maintaining many original features of the Palace including frescos on the ceilings of some of the public rooms. It also has a chapel.

After a busy day sightseeing guests can relax in the hotel’s luxurious spa, health club or in the outdoor swimming pool which overlooks the Douro River.
This luxurious Pestana Palacio do Freixo has 87 rooms, including 11 suites. Many of the rooms have stunning views over the Douro River. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, heating/air conditioning, cable television, mini bar, hairdryer, safe, telephone and free internet access.
